REDEMPTION Complete Work On Sophomore Album
December 19, 2004REDEMPTION's sophomore album, featuring FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder, has finally been completed.
"Recording, mixing, and mastering are complete and the result is amazing," Nicolas van Dyk, REDEMPTION's primary songwriter and guitarist/keyboardist, writes on the group's web site. "We worked with Tommy Newton, known for his work with bands such as CONCEPTION, HELLOWEEN, ARK, UFO and others. Tommy initially signed on to mix the project but once Bernie and I got to Germany and started working with him, he had so much energy and so many ideas that he took on more of a co-producer role as well. Things turned out extremely well, and I can’t wait for you all to hear the music! From a songwriting, performance and production standpoint, this CD is a huge step forward from our debut and we are all very, very excited.
"Travis Smith will again be doing our artwork and we are in the middle of the creative process with him right now. We’re also working on scheduling our release, which should be sometime in the middle of 2005. It’s a long time for me to wait, but I promise you it will be worth it!"
As previously reported, Alder was a guest musician for one track on REDEMPTION's self-titled debut (released on Sensory in 2003),and he joined the group on-stage at Atlanta's ProgPower festival in September of that year to perform this song. Alder and van Dyk also collaborated previously on a track on the first ENGINE CD.
